FIRST NAMES FOR GROEZROCK 2015
Remember that Korn song that starts with ‘are you readyyyyy’? We do, even though we wish we didn’t. Don’t worry… Korn will not be playing at Groezrock. Seriously, what drugs are you on? But we digress. Here are the first 48 bands for Groezrock 2015!
As you already know, REFUSED is our first headliner. We also added the legendary SOCIAL DISTORTION to top the bill. You want more big names? Well how about LAGWAGON? Or MILLENCOLIN?
Hold on, don’t cream your pants yet. Think about dead puppies… There’s more, ehm, coming…
Punk isn’t all about headliners, really. It’s about supporting your local scene. So we booked some amazing Belgian bands: the crossover thrashers TOXIC SHOCK, the bluesy, sludgy stoners of YOUR HIGHNESS, melodic metalcore act SET THINGS RIGHT and the noisy punky rockers PSYCHO 44.
They’ll be joined by THE DWARVES, who apparently invented rock ‘n roll, and AGAINST ME!, whose excellent “Transgender Dysphoria Blues” is probably the most talked about record of the past year.
We also invited our Aussie friends in FRENZAL RHOMB and THE SMITH STREET BAND to come and play some tunes.
In case you missed their reunion shows, we made sure you can catch BASEMENT in Meerhout. Their countrymen in GNARWOLVES and WHILE SHE SLEEPS and TURBOWOLF will also be crossing the Channel.
Stoked? Or are you waiting for something more hardcore? Well… In the category ‘heavy as fuck’ we have for you the deathcore stylings of SUICIDE SILENCE, EMMURE, WHITECHAPEL and CARNIFEX.
If that isn’t loud enough yet, then how about ATREYU? Or UNEARTH? Or CANCER BATS? Or IRON REAGAN, featuring members of Municipal Waste and Darkest Hour? That’s a lot of loud if you put them all together.
We also have some fine bands that will be playing our festival for the first time ever, such as TIMESHARES, DIRECT HIT!, TRANSIT, TURNSTILE, SET IT OFF, new Hellcat Records sensation THE INTERRUPTERS and THE HOLY MESS.
On the other hand, bands like MAKE DO AND MEND, BANNER PILOT, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET, THE GHOST INSIDE and SUCH GOLD will be back for a second round of Groezrock. Guess they all want a shot at the TITLE FIGHT. Get it?
And just when you thought we’re almost done, we’re gonna dive feet first into some extremely amazing hardcore bands, like COMEBACK KID, STICK TO YOUR GUNS, TRASH TALK, DEFEATER, REIGN SUPREME and NYHC legends AGNOSTIC FRONT.
Last but certainly not least, we will offer you the chance to come say goodbye to the amazing BANE and THE SWELLERS. Or come say “hello again” to old acquaintances at the reunion shows of the legendary AS FRIENDS RUST and the iconic AMERICAN NIGHTMARE who will play on the ETNIES stage.
BREAKING NEWS a FIFTH STAGE?
Bone-breaking, that is... We have added a FIFTH STAGE! And not just a random huge tent with barriers and security people. No sir-ee Bob.
Because of the epic success of the Etnies Stage, there will be a second smaller stage, open for plenty of stage-diving fun and shenanigans.
We're thinking about calling it the High Five Stage. Because, duh, stage dives and high fives go hand in hand. Or the Diving Board. Or the Joyce Manor stage. What? We suck? Well, if you have any better suggestions, send 'em to us (info@groezrock.be) and you might win a free ticket. Or not.
Anyway, we really hope you'll like the extra dose of ADRENALIN. Just watch out for the band's equipment on the stage. And be careful of where you jump and on whom.

Nein. Das ist wirklich hirnrissig und macht das Festival wieder ein kleines Stück unsympathischer.
Naja, das möchte ich nicht beurteilen.
Ich bezweifel allerdings, dass ich noch mal da aufkreuzen werde.
Allein, weil es sicher kein zweites Mal ein für mich so spannendes Line-up geben wird.

Genau da liegt ja das Problem. So kann man das Line Up noch mehr aufblasen, bis irgendwann alle Bands der Welt da spielen. Nur hat man netto nicht mehr Bands gesehen als auf einem Festival mit zwei Bühnen. Im Gegenteil, man ist immer hin- und hergerissen, muss sich entscheiden, oder Kompromisse finden und Auftritte nur halb gucken - Murks.

Das wäre eigentlich lustig, wenn es nicht tatsächlich so wäre, dass es auch 2015 noch Festivals gibt, die sowas aufstellen und dafür lächerliche Preise verlangen
Davon ab: Ich kenn in dem Lineup echt wenig, aber alleine auf die beiden Headliner hätte ich schon Bock (und der neue Track von Title Fight kligt auch geil). Ich denke das mit den 5 Bühnen wird eher kein Problem für mich :-D
Kommt natürlich auch auf den Preis an, und bis wann war das sonst so ausverkauft?
Genau da liegt ja das Problem. So kann man das Line Up noch mehr aufblasen, bis irgendwann alle Bands der Welt da spielen. Nur hat man netto nicht mehr Bands gesehen als auf einem Festival mit zwei Bühnen. Das Problem befürchte ich auch, aber bisher habe ich noch nicht so viele Bands dabei, die ich koste es, was es wolle, sehen muss. Doch schon mal ein guter Anfang (bin auch offen für die vielen Bands, die ich eher nur vom Namen kenne. Und das waren ja noch nicht alle, wie wir wissen. Hoffentlich werden nicht zu viele gute angekündigt.
So oder so sieht es ganz danach aus, dass ich und meine Gang wieder dabei sein werden!
weil wir's grade woanders davon hatten:
hatte gesagt, ich könnte mir das im camper ganz gut vorstellen und schmirglie meinte, er würde im hotel pennen.
2011 hatten wir ein hotel, das große problem dabei war, dass man da nochmal ne viertelstunde hinfahren musste. da ich kein problem damit hatte, nix zu trinken, hab ich halt den fahrer gemacht. ob ich das diesmal wieder machen würde kann ich jetzt noch nicht sagen. ich weiß auch nicht, wie es mit taxis aussieht. D3 müsste das doch wissen? wo fahren die ab? kann mich nicht erinnern, welche gesehen zu haben.
wir waren in einem hotel und haben uns halt zu sechst so ein großes zimmer genommen, das waren ca. 50 euro pro person für 2 nächte. camper stelle ich mir halt cool vor, weil man dann nicht ewig in der weltgeschichte rumcruisen muss und keiner der depp sein muss, der fährt. außerdem wäre man weniger abhängig vom essen und trinken da. und allein der weg vom parkplatz zum festivalgelände

Der vom Camper zum Gelände ist noch länger. Ne Viertelstunde musst du da einplanen, also immer wieder mal fröhlich hin und her ist nicht wirklich drin. Es sei denn man hat wie ich sowas hier dabei:
