Russian Circles are one of the most hardworking bands I've met. As their manager it has been so hard to watch them suffer back-to-back financial losses because of this pandemic - first with a full European tour cancellation that left them deeply in debt and now having all their gear stolen while out in California for their first shows back in two years. We then found out our insurance had lapsed and none of it would be covered. If that was not enough today we got the final blow of having both of their Los Angeles shows be cancelled the day before, due to circumstances completely beyond our control.
We really hoped that the stolen gear would somehow be found so that we would not have had to ask for so much help. We still have had no leads and getting any of it back seems unlikely. Now, the loss of the income and merch sales from these two big shows is leaving them with just too many unrecoupable expenses for me not to ask our music loving community to help them .
Please know, it is only in the most extreme of circumstances that we would ever ask for this.
A huge thank you to a few of the gear companies that did reach out and did replace a few items. As well as the friends / musicians that offered loaners for them to use. Your kindness was so appreciated.
With eternal love and thanks to all that help us spread the word and or who can contribute.

Placebo haben den zweiten Vorabtrack "Surrounded by Spies" veröffentlicht. Das neue Album Never Let Go erscheint am 25.3.22, Tourdaten wurden auch angekündigt.
Surrounded by Spies gefällt mir etwas besser als die erste Single "Beautiful James" (diese ist ok aber halt zu sehr Placebostandard)

"Composed in the 14th or 15th century Odin’s Raven Magic is an Icelandic poem in the ancient Edda tradition (Edda - a term that describes two Icelandic manuscripts which together are the main sources of Norse mythology and Skáldic poetry) its anonymous author clearly had an intimate knowledge of the Edda literature and mythology which alludes to a number of pagan motifs which are now lost. The poem recounts a great banquet held by the gods in Valhalla while they were absorbed in their feasting, ominous signs appeared that could foretell the end of the worlds of the gods and men.
The album 'Odin’s Raven Magic' is an orchestral collaboration between Sigur Rós, Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson, Steindór Andersen and Maria Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir which premiered 18 years ago at the Barbican Centre in London and is now finally almost two decades later being released. The performance honours the poem, dramatic and beautiful, classical and contemporary. A stone marimba was built especially for the performance by Páll Guðmundsson.
Odin’s Raven Magic - the poem - had been relegated from mainstream ancient literature ever since 1867, when Norwegian scholar Sophus Bugge claimed it was a 17th century fabrication. This theory has since been toppled with literary and linguistic arguments and new research has concluded that Odin’s Raven Magic was indeed authentic and has finally been reintroduced to the Edda.

auch hier dominieren die ersten beiden platten, aber nicht ganz so deutlich.
The Appleseed Cast gehen im Emo-Diskurs immer so ein bisschen unter, aber an manchen Tagen denke ich, dass sie definitiv eine Top 5 Band sind. Und kaum jemand (genreübergreifend!) bringt so stabil hervorragende Alben heraus.
Mit denen kenn ich mich nicht gut aus, aber Peregrine ist

Durch die Aktuelle Visions "Der Soundtrack meines Lebens" Podcast Folge mit Kathrin Ost bin ich auf ihre Band August August aufmerksam geworden.
